Edna Mae (Seiders) Straley

Edna Mae (Seiders) Straley, 75, of Altoona, PA and formerly of Waterfall, PA passed away Thursday, January 22nd, 2015 at UPMC Altoona, Altoona, PA. Edna was born in McConnellsburg, PA on February 12, 1939, the daughter of the late Mildred L. (Sipes) Seiders Melius and Charles A. Seiders.  She was the widow of Harold R. Straley whom she married on September 27, 1955 and he passed away on January 7, 1975. Mrs. Straley was a lifetime member of the Saxton Sportsmen's Association, the CPT Phillips VFW Post 4129 Ladies Auxiliary in Saxton, PA and was a retired bartender/manager from Dave's Tavern in Chambersburg, PA She is survived by Son Steven (husband of Debra) Straley of James Creek, PA, Daughters Dianne Garlock of South Plains, NJ, Deborah (wife of Greg) Garlock of Wells Tannery, PA, Cheryl (wife of Larry) Parks of Altoona, PA, Sisters Nellie Gress of McConnellsburg, PA, Linda Faith of Warfordsburg, PA, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by sister Marie Shimer, step-father Elmer Melius, one grandson and her companion of thirty years Paul Jones. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 26th, 2015  with Pastor Carl Sipes officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 25th, 2015 from 2 to 8 PM.   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
