Edgar J. Lake

Edgar J. Lake, 86, of Harrisonville, PA passed away Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Edgar was born in Saluvia, PA on January 11, 1932, the son of the late Violet (Hann) and George L. Lake.  He was the widower of Gladys B. (Hann) Lake whom he married on March 28, 1958 and she passed away on May 4, 2017.

Mr. Lake was a member of the Calvary Independent Baptist Church in McConnellsburg, PA where he was a deacon, trustee and also treasurer.  He retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, PA after thirty plus years of service and was a Forest Fire Warden for many years.  Edgar enjoyed farming, working in his organic garden and playing music with his violin.

He is survived by son Danny J. (husband of Carla) Lake, granddaughter Erin J. (wife of Brian) Shafer, great grandchildren Riley D. and Makayley M. Shafer all of Harrisonville, PA.  Preceded in death by brother Omert B. Lake.

Visitation will be Monday, May 21st, 2018 from 12 to 2 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.

Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 21st, 2018  with Pastor John Hodge officiating.

Interment at Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
