Earl E. McCulloh, 86, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, August 24th, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.
Earl was born in Mercersburg, PA on August 3, 1930, a son of the late Olive J. (DeShong) and John A. McCulloh. He was the widower of Elizabeth S. "Libby" (Bell) McCulloh, whom he married on August 3, 1957. She preceded him in death on February, 8 2016.
In his earlier years, Earl worked for Fry Coal & Stone in Mercersburg, PA as a shovel operator and foreman for seventeen years before going to Grove Worlwide in Shady Grove, PA working as a welder and superviser for thirty years before retiring. He also helped with the McConnellsburg Boro Water Authority. Earl was a member of the Cito United Methodist Church McConnellsburg, PA and the Grease, Steam & Rust Association. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobile racing but he also enjoyed camping, old tractors and watching baseball throughout his entire life. All though Earl and Libby never had children of their own, they always had their dogs which they dearly loved and treated them as their kids.
Earl is survived by his brother Dean (husband of Glenda) McCulloh, of Waynesboro, PA, nephews; Doug C. (husband of Brenda) Gordon, of McConnellsburg, PA, Greg P. Gordon, of McConnellsburg, PA, Scott D. (husband of Belinda) McCulloh, of Waynesboro, PA, Tim (husband of Deborah) McCulloh, of Waynesboro, PA, Mark (husband of Sheri) Michalsky, of Chambersburg, PA, and nieces Kathy (wife of Troy) Small, of Harrisburg, PA and Patty (wife of Roger) Nowell, of Waynesboro, PA. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard A. McCulloh and nephew Chris M. McCulloh.
Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 27th, with Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.
Interment will be held at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Earl to the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co., 112 E. Maple St., Mc Connellsburg, PA 17233.
