Dorothy Ann Smith, 86, of McConnellsburg, PA, surrounded by her loved ones, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Dorothy was born in McConnellsburg, PA on August 28, 1937, a daughter of the late LaVina (Keyser) and Elmer Scott Hann.  She was also the granddaughter of the late Scott Stewart Hann, a Civil War Veteran.  Dorothy was the widow of Rudolph "Rudy" J. Smith, who she married on November 6, 1954.  He preceded her in death on February 15, 2015.

Dorothy was a seamstress at Sagner in McConnellsburg, PA for many years, was a driver for the Area Agency on Aging in Fulton County, PA and also helped teach at the Fulton County Christian School when it was active.  Dorothy was an avid reader and loved music, especially old gospel hymns.  Her favorite was "I'll Fly Away" and if you knew Dorothy, you would often hear her say that.  She had an unwavering love for her family and her Lord.  She enjoyed every moment spent with her family, even if it were only a minute or two.  During the time spent with her family, she would love to share stories about her life.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah L. (wife of the late Bob Peck) Peck, of Knobsville, PA, daughter Rena A. (wife of Bruce) Sipes, of McConnellsburg, PA.  She is also survived by five grandchildren; Richard "Andy" Shelley, Wendy Mellott, Rachel (wife of Daryl) Carbaugh, Nathan (husband of Eleanor) Sipes, Melissa (wife of Morris) Suders, eleven great grandchildren; Austin Shelley, Whitney Mellott, Bo, Adam and Nova Carbaugh, Jade Collins, Malachi, Ava, and Lincoln Sipes and Carter and Maxwell Suders, five great-great grandchildren; Aurora and Phoenix Collins and Ezra, Oliver and Percy Sipes.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a half sister Ida Lynch, half brother Carl Carbaugh and brother Stanley Hann.

Funeral Services will be private.  Interment will follow at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.
