Dorothy H. Hollenshead

Dorothy H. Hollenshead, 87, of Needmore, PA passed away Tuesday, October 7th, 2014 at her residence. Dorothy was born in Laidig, PA on July 8, 1927, the daughter of the late Bertha (McClain) and Jesse  Laidig.  She was the wife of Roy G. Hollenshead whom she married on June 3, 1950. Mrs. Hollenshead was a member of the Sideling Hill Christian Church and their Ladies Aide in Needmore, PA and also was a homemaker. In addition to her husband, she is survived by Sons Mike Hollenshead of Needmore, PA, Steve Hollenshead of Harrisonville, PA, Jeff Hollenshead of Charles Town, WV, Daughter Susan Sipes of Harrisonville, PA, Sisters Marjorie Swope of Chambersburg, PA, Elmo Lorah of Reading, PA, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by brothers Paul and Harvey Laidig. Religious Service at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, PA at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 10th, 2014  with Pastor William Swope officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 9th, 2014 from 5 to 8 PM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Friday at the church. Interment at Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
