Dorothy G. Mellott

Dorothy G. Mellott, 91, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, PA.

Dorothy was born in Maddensville, PA on March 1, 1932, a daughter of the late Ruth  E. (Kenepp) and Harvey L. Grissinger.  She was the widow of Grover K. Mellott, who she married on August 8, 1953.  He preceded her in death on August 12, 2009.

Dorothy worked as a nurse's aide at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, PA.  She also worked on the family farm and was a homemaker.  She was a member of the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church in McConnellsburg, PA and the Gideons International.

She is survived by her son Craig A. (husband of Gwendelyn) Mellott, of Houston, TX, daughter Jana L. Mellott, of Harrisonville, PA, daughter Susan L. (wife of John) Myers, of Lancaster, PA, son Joseph S. ( husband of Joan) Mellott, of McConnellsburg, PA and sister Florine M. Gordon, of Needmore, PA.  She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a sister Polly A. Richards and brother Andrew Grissinger.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Stone Hollow Farm, 16937 Great Cove Road McConnellsburg, PA, at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024  with Jeremy Fletcher officiating.  There will be a visitation held from 10:30 AM till the start of the service.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
