Doris E. (Witter) Oakman

Doris E. Oakman, 97, of New Haven, KY and formerly of Waterfall, PA passed away Tuesday, December 11th, 2012 at Flaget Hospital, Bardstown, KY. Doris was born in Waterfall, PA on December 24, 1914, the daughter of the late Roy and Freida (Alloway) Witter.  She was the widow of Guy F. Oakman whom she married in 1937 and he passed away on June 26, 1994. She was a homemaker and loved gardening and fishing. Mrs. Oakman is survived by Daughters Alice DeShong of Harrisonville, PA, Cindy M. Johnson of Loretta, KY, Sons Lee R. Oakman of New Haven, KY, Danny W. Oakman of Waterfall, PA, John D. Oakman of New Haven, KY,  nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by infant son  Earl Oakman, sister Mary Alice Witter and brother Dale Witter. Religious Service at Asbury United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, PA, at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 16th,  2012 with Pastor William Bair officiating. Interment at Asbury United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA. There will be visitation on Saturday, December 15th, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Sunday at the church. Arrangements were made by the Howard L.
