Doris E. Strait, 89, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Unit in McConnellsburg, PA.

Doris was born on July 16, 1936, in Hustontown, PA. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Margaret (Shaw) Hann. She was the widow of Leslie C. Strait, who she married on November 22, 1952. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2004. 

She worked for many years as a seamstress at Sagner's Sewing Company and Stanley Company in Chambersburg. She was later employed at Giant Food Stores in McConnellsburg, PA where she worked till she was eighty years old. She loved her family deeply. She enjoyed cross-stitching and reading.

She is survived by her two children, Roger (husband of Sandy) Strait, of McConnellsburg, PA and Robin Harr, of McConnellsburg, PA. She is also survived by one sister; Lois Strait, of McConnellsburg, PA, four grandchildren; Tanya (wife of Lavan) Harris, of McConnellsburg, PA, Charles (husband of Dusty) Harr, of McConnellsburg, PA, Josh (husband of Heather) Strait, of McConnellsburg, PA, Lori (wife of Scott) Mellott, of Harrisonville, PA; eleven great-grandchildren; Molly, Maggie, Matthew, J.J., Bailey, Karter, Chloe, Isaiah, Jared, Avrie, Ellie and one great-great-grandchild; Marcus. She was preceded in death by sisters; Janet Shehan and Joyce Bookheimer, son-in-law; Max Harr and great-granddaughter; Brooke Strait.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, with Pastor Erik Sollenberger officiating. There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be at Siloam Christian Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA.
