Donna L. Deshong

Donna L. DeShong, 90, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at her residence.

Donna was born in Licking Creek Twp., Fulton County, PA on November 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Julia Elnora (Batdorff) and Arnold Paul Bard.  She was the widow of Gilbert E. "Gil" DeShong, who she married on June 7, 1952.  He preceded her in death on March 13, 2015.

Donna retired from Letterkenny Army Depot after thirty-three years.  She was a member of the Knobsville United Methodist Church in Knobsville, PA.  Donna was an avid reader and loved traveling with her husband, going to all fifty states and parts of Europe.  She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Rhonda L. (wife of Mark) Weller, of McConnellsburg, PA.  She is also survived by her three grandchildren; Toni L. Howell of McConnellsburg, PA, Joni L. (wife of Dennis) Knepper of McConnellsburg, PA, Steven J. (husband of Hilary) Weller of McConnellsburg, PA, seven great grandchildren; Zoe L. (wife of Joe) Gorski, J. Howell, Joel L. Knepper, Jace L. Knepper, Raegan L. Knepper, Brystan M. Weller and Benson M. Weller.  She was preceded in death by her sister Audrey Joanne Bard.

There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, February, 27, 2024 from 6 PM till 8 PM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.

Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 with Pastor Becky Cutchall and Pastor Fredrick Marz officiating.  There will also be one hour of visitation held prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.
