Donna D. Garlock, 94, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away on Saturday July 18, 2026, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Donna was born on July 26, 1931, in McConnellsburg, PA. She was the daughter of the late Russell A. and Katharine (Oakman) DeShong. She was the widow of Robert L. "Bob" Garlock, whom she married on January 10, 1954. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2019.

After graduating from Shippensburg State College with a Bachelor's degree in Education, Donna taught third grade for forty years from 1953 to 1993. She was a member of the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, the Pennsylvania Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) and the Fulton County Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR). In her younger years Donna enjoyed snowmobiling, racing go-carts and hunting with Bob and their friends. Donna and Bob enjoyed hosting family and friends at their cabin on Sideling Hill Mountain. In her later years Donna enjoyed sitting at her kitchen window watching the birds and waiting for her next visitor to reminisce with. Donna loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was blessed with many great friends whom she considered her extended family, and would often go on shopping excursions with them. She also looked forward to her monthly luncheons with fellow retired teachers. Donna touched so many lives with her endless love and witty sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all those close to her. We know she is right where she wants to be with God and Bob and her loved ones who went before her and we will find peace and comfort in that.

Donna is survived by her son Michael P. (husband of Kristy) Garlock, of McConnellsburg, PA, grandchildren Mackenzie Garlock, Cloe Richards, Wyatt Garlock, great grandchildren Layla Carr, London Carr, Aliyah Poe; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Delores "Honey" Henry, Dora Horton, Doris Ford and infant sister Dolly DeShong.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday July 26, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc. PA, with Pastors Jeremy Fletcher and Michelle Price officiating. There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in memory of Donna to the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, 121 North Second St. McConnellsburg, Pa. 17233.
