Dolly A. Peffer

Dolly A. Peffer, 80, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Sunday, March 18th, 2018 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Dolly was born in McConnellsburg, PA on September 28, 1937, the daughter of the late Beulah (Bishop) and Walter  Ray.  She was the widow of Edward A. Peffer whom she married on March 30, 1974 and he passed away on April 22, 2013. Mrs. Peffer was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in McConnellsburg, PA where she played the organ for many years and was a member of the VFW Post #655 Ladies Auxiliary in McConnellsburg, PA. She retired from the Sagner Sewing Factory in McConnellsburg, PA in 1973 and then owned and operated Peffer's Mountain View in Huntingdon, PA with her husband.  Dolly loved music and enjoyed playing the organ and the piano. Dolly is survived by daughter Paula E. Cook of Mercersburg, PA, step-daughter Patricia J. Winchell of Millersville, PA, sisters Audrey Bivens of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Sandra Stenger of McConnellsburg, PA, brothers Kenneth Ray of Clear Spring, MD, Larry Ray of Mechanicsburg, PA, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by son Edwin Cover, sister Judy Houtz and brother Harold "Dick" Ray. Visitation will be Thursday, March 22nd, 2018 from  10 to 11 AM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 22nd, 2018  with Pastor Allen Reed officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
