Della A. Mellott

Della A. Mellott, 95, of Needmore, PA passed away Tuesday, July 11th, 2017 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Della was born in Needmore, PA on September 12, 1921, the daughter of the late Iola (Mellott) and Andrew  Swope.  She was the widow of Grant C. Mellott whom she married on March 9, 1940 and he passed away on September 20, 1990. Mrs. Mellott was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren in Needmore, PA and was a  homemaker.  Della enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting and playing scrabble. She is survived by daughters Mary Jane (wife of Richard) Wilson of Needmore, PA, Joan (wife of Donald) Snyder of Needmore, PA, Helen (wife of Donald) Golden of Warfordsburg, PA, Marleen (wife of Thomas) Golden of Warfordsburg, PA, son Leon (husband of Patty) Mellott of Needmore, PA, sister Edna McDaid of Hustontown, PA, sister-in-law Mildred Swope, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by infant son Walter Mellott, sisters Mabel Keebaugh, Mildred Fogal, Goldie Mellott, brothers Clyde, Floyd, Paul and Ellis Swope. Visitation will be Thursday, July 13th, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Friday at the church. Religious Service at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, PA at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 14th, 2017  with Pastor Roger Truax officiating. Interment at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Needmore, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Brethren Cemetery Committee, in care of Linda Mellott, 5337 Sipes Mill Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267.
