Dearl E. "Rocky" Smalley

Dearl E. "Rocky" Smalley, 81, of Harrisonville, PA passed away Friday, March 3rd, 2017 at his residence. Rocky was born in Gray, PA on April 29, 1935, the son of the late Bessie M. (Gindlesperger) and Dearl L. Smalley.  He was the husband of Ora M. (Johnson) Smalley whom he married on December 24, 1954. He served in the U.S. Army as a Cpl (T) in the Korean War, was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the American Legion Post #561 in McConnellsburg, PA.  Rocky worked construction in his earlier years and then had his own business refinishing antique furniture. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Jody Smalley of Harrisonville, PA, daughter Vicky Vance of Harrisonville, PA, sister Judith Fiex of Chambersburg, PA, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by sons Dewayne and Jeffery Smalley, sister Patty Staven, infant brother Maxie Smalley and one great granddaughter. Memorial Service at Harrisonville Independent Holiness Church, 3036 Buck Road, Harrisonville, PA 17228 at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 11th, 2017  with Pastor Toby Mellott officiating. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by the Howard L.
