Darlene D. Holmes, 81, of Pike, NY, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026 at her residence.

Darlene was born on November 10, 1944, in Brush Creek, PA. She was the daughter of the late Charles O. and Florence M. (Miller) Sipes. She was the wife of Marvin D. Holmes, who she married on August 3, 1968. Darlene loved to read, especially her Bible, and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She liked watching movies with her family and going to yard sales, always looking for a good bargain.

She loved playing Yahtzee and card games with friends and family. Darlene was kind and thoughtful, often giving her grandchildren a few quarters to get candy from vending machines when they went out. She also enjoyed singing old hymns, and one of her favorites was "Wonderful Peace."

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Kevin (husband of Hannah) Holmes, Todd Holmes, her step-sons, Dennis Holmes and Paul Holmes; her brother Ricky (husband of Nancy) Sipes and her eleven grandchildren, Sharon, Julianne, Victoria, Kathleene, Leah, Alaina, Maria, David, Lydia, Jonathan, and Caleb. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Shirley Sipes, Charles Sipes, Larry Sipes and infant brother, Ronald Sipes.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May, 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, with Bishop Marvin Holmes officiating. There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA.
