Darl G. Schriever

Darl G.  Schriever, 84, of Warfordsburg, PA, passed away Monday, December 25th, at his residence.

Darl was born in Amaranth, PA on May 7, 1939, a son of the late Mary E. (Barnhart) and Ellis V. Schriever.  He was the husband of Virginia H. (Ray) Schriever, who he married on September 13, 1961.

Darl was a member of the Buck Valley Christian Church in Warfordsburg, PA.  He worked as a custodian at Southern Fulton High School for thirty years and also drove school bus. In his younger years he worked at PennDot.  Darl loved his family and enjoyed his family chicken bbq's, making homemade ice cream and hobby farming.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Sheila D. Eader, of Harrisonville, PA, Mabel V. Divelbliss, of Mercersburg, PA, son Ricky G. (husband of Paula) Schriever, of Warfordsburg, PA and sister Sue Ann Thompson, of Needmore, PA.  He is also survived by  nine grandchildren; Jeff (husband of Jami) Eader, Jason (husband of Becky) Eader, Darla (wife of Michael) Fogal, Jenny (wife of JC) Hoover, Kim Eader, Eugene Divelbliss, Branden Divelbliss, Cody Divelbliss and Keri (wife of Derrick) Stains, four step-grandchildren, sixteeen great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his brothers  Bernard, Paul and Harold Schriever.

There will be a visitation held on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.

Funeral services will be held at the Buck Valley Christian Church, Warfordsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 30th,  with Pastor Delmas Bard and Pastor Russell Hoffman officiating.  There will also be one hour of visitation held prior to the service at the church.  Interment will follow at the Buck Valley Christian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Darl to Grane Hospice Care 115 Union Ave. Altoona, PA 16602.
