Curtis "Wayne" Roberts, 74, of Waterfall, PA, passed away Wednesday, July 15th, at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home in Duncansville, PA.
Wayne was born in Wadley, Georgia on April 12, 1941, a son of the late Mary Vita (Hannah) and George Curtis Roberts. He was the husband of Naomi R. (King) Roberts, whom he married on November 13, 1964.
Wayne attended Mt. Tabor Church of the Nazarene in Waterfall, PA. During much of his life, Wayne was a tree trimmer and drove truck. He was a "jack of all trades." He enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, anything to do with the Civil War, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a crew chief and mechanic on helicopters and was also a paratrooper with the 101st and 82nd Airborne.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his two children Kevin W. Roberts of Waterfall, PA, and Valerie R. (wife 0f Kevin) Centi of Three Springs, PA. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Henry of Wadley, GA, brother Raymond (husband of Maxine) Roberts of Dublin, GA brother Glenn ( husband of Linda) Roberts of Swainsboro, GA, four grandchildren Sheryl Roberts of Waterfall, PA, Mark Roberts of Waterfall, PA, Emily (wife of Evan) Brant of Harrisonville, PA, Matthew Centi of Dudley, PA, four great grandchildren Kaden Hockenberry, Lily Roberts, Easton Brant and Emmett Brant.
Religious Service will be held at Mt. Tabor Church of the Nazarene, Waterfall, PA, at 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 19th, with Pastor Duane Williams and Pastor Kenneth Cornelious officiating.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 4 PM to 8 PM.at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
Interment at Mt. Tabor Church of the Nazarene Cemetery Waterfall, PA.
Military honors will be provided by the Fulton Honor Guard.
