Cody R. Helman

Cody R. Helman, 24, of Coral Gables, FL and formerly of Shippensburg, PA passed away Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 in Miami, FL. Cody was born in McConnellsburg, PA on December 28, 1990, the son of Stacey L. (Clippinger) Helman of Shippensburg, PA and the late Warrant Officer Jonathan C. Helman who passed away on December 11, 2002 while serving his country. He graduated from Shippensburg Area Senior High School in 2009, Valley Forge Military College in 2011 where he was Salutatorian and from the University of Miami on May 8, 2015.  Cody was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan, enjoyed weight lifting, roller blading and cheering for the University of Miami. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his mother's companion Steve  Brown and his son Kyler Brown of Shippensburg, PA, maternal grandmother Jane Rubeck of Knobsville, PA, paternal grandmothers Carla Helman of McConnellsburg PA and Norma Helman of McConnellsburg, PA and paternal great grandmother Doris Pittman of McConnellsburg. He was preceded in death by his grandfather John E. Helman and paternal great grandfather Kenneth Pittman. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 22nd,  2015 with Jeremy Fletcher officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 21st, 2015 from 2 to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
