Charlotte E. Schooley, 84, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025, in Chambersburg, PA.
Charlotte was born in Shimpstown, PA on July 27, 1940, a daughter of the late Otha and Sarah (Snyder) Souders. She was the wife of Theodore L. Schooley, who she married on June 8, 1957. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2017.
Charlotte was a devoted mother, a caring friend, and hardworking soul, who left us peacefully surrounded by her daughters in Chambersburg, PA.
Charlotte was the beloved mother of five children, whom she cherished deeply and raised with unwavering love, strength, and kindness.
In her earlier years, Charlotte worked at Knouse Foods, Sylvania Shoe Co, Baer Food Packing, and in later years at Citibank Child care as a kitchen aide and child care provider, nurturing many young lives with patience, compassion, and a gentle spirit. She had a special way of making every child feel safe and loved.
In retirement, she found peace and purpose in her garden. With tireless hands and a green thumb, she cultivated beauty in every season. Her flowers and vegetables flourished under her care, just as her family did under her warmth.
Charlotte will be remembered for her quiet strength, generous heart, and the loving home she created for all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters; Karon (wife of Mark) Tuck, of Moneta, VA, Elizabeth (wife of Clark) Smith of Chambersburg, PA, Louise Schooley of Greencastle, PA and Melinda (wife of Darryle) Pine of Mercersburg, PA. and sister; Mary (Souders) Smith, of Chincoteague, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Brooks Heyser, Wendy Heyser, Jason McCoy, Travis McCoy, Scottie (David) McCoy, Brian Witmer, Jenny Witmer, Keith Marsh and Andrew Pine and great-grandchildren; Aadan McCoy, Elizabeth McCoy, Raegan McCoy, Ethan Bishop, Emily Collins, Noah Heyser and Ashley Grove. She was preceded in death by her son; Teddy (Theodore) Schooley of Martinsburg, WV, a granddaughter; April Witmer and great-grandson; Brandon Bishop. Charlotte was a member of Locust Level Church, Greencastle PA.
