Charles Emory Sipes, 71, of Harrisonville, PA passed away Tuesday, March 8th, 2011 in McConnellsburg, PA as a result of a vehicle accident.
Charles was born in Crystal Springs, PA on November 11, 1939, the son of the late Charles Oliver and Florence May (Miller) Sipes. He was the husband of Ann A. (Mason) Sipes whom he married on January 19, 1959.
Mr. Sipes served in the U.S. Airforce, was of the Protestant faith, was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Harrisonville, PA, the Mercersburg Sportsman's Club, the NRA, C & C Hunting Camp in Harrisonville, PA, past president of the AFSCME Local 2122 and several other hunting and fishing clubs. He retired from PennDOT and currently was a mail carrier. Charles also was an avid flea market vendor.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by Son Charles Joseph Sipes of McConnellsburg, PA, Brother Ricky Craig Sipes of Calhan, CO, Sisters Shirley Joan Sipes of Pike, NY, Darlene Doris Holmes of Pike, NY, Grandchildren Ian Charles Sipes, Sarah Jane Sipes and Haleigh Maye Sipes.
Preceded in death by brother Larry Edgar Sipes and infant brother Ronald Eugene Sipes.
Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., Harrisonville, PA, at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 15th, 2011 with Pastor William Swope officiating.
Interment at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA.
There will be visitation on Monday, March 14th, 2011 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., Harrisonville, PA. There will also be visitation on hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
