Charles E. McElhaney, 81, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Friday, June 7th, 2013 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA.
Charles was born in Hustontown, PA on September 24, 1931, the son of the late Harmon and Pearl (Colledge) McElhaney. He was the husband of Pauline G. (Morningstar) McElhaney whom he married on March 3, 1962.
He served in the U.S. Air Force as a SSGT in the Korean War, was employed with MISMA, MIDA and DESCOM at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, PA for thirty-five years. He was a computer programmer analyst the last sixteen of his thirty-five years at Letterkenny upon retiring in 1986. Mr. McElhaney also enjoyed motorcycling and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by Daughters Connie Seville of McConnellsburg, PA, Cathy Irven of Hagerstown, MD, Step-Son Rodger Seville of Chambersburg, PA, Brother Jay McElhaney of McConnellsburg, PA, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Preceded in death by sister Betty Remsburg, brother Marvin McElhaney who was killed in action in Germany during WWII and grandson Vaughn Seville.
Graveside service at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:15 A.M. on Tuesday, June 11th, 2013 with Pastor William Bair officiating.
There will be visitation on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.
