Charles M. Bentz

Charles M. Bentz, 73, of Needmore, PA, passed away Friday, May 16th, at Pinnacle Health Hospital, Harrisburg, PA. Charles was born in Kanter, PA on October 25, 1940, a son of the late Eva L. (Barron) and Homer E. Bentz. He was the husband of Ruth J. (Miller) Bentz., whom he married on August 20, 1965. He worked as a Foreman and an Equipment Operator for Penn Dot, before retiring in 2000.  He also was a farmer, farming his family farm. Charles was a Lifetime Member of the Needmore Volunteer Fire Company, Needmore, PA and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters Stacey J. Wigfield of Needmore, PA and Peggy A.  (wife of Troy) Koons of Needmore, PA.  He is also survived by his four grandaughters Jessica Wigfield of Chambersburg, PA, Ashley Wigfield of Buckvalley, PA, Cheyenne Koons and Peyton Koons both of Needmore, PA. He was preceded in death by  his brother James Bentz, a sister Janet Snowberger and an infant brother Richard Bentz Funeral services will be held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc.,  McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 21st,  with Pastor Duane Williams officiating. There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, May 20th from  2 PM till 8 PM. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., 873 Lincoln Way East McConnellsburg, PA  17233.  There will also be one hour of visitaton held before the service on Wednesday. Interment at Laurel Ridge Christian Church Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Needmore Volunteer Fire Company 8328 Great Cove Rd.
