Chad S. Strait

Chad S. Strait, 43, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Saturday, March 4th, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. Chad was born in McConnellsburg, PA on June 3, 1973, the son of Sharon J. (Culler) Strait of McConnellsburg, PA and Dean W. (companion Susan Hanks) Strait of McConnellsburg, PA.  He was the husband of Emily D. (Cisney) Strait whom he married on December 18, 2015. He attended the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church in his younger years, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4274 in Harrisonville, PA, the American Legion Post #561 in McConnellsburg, PA and was a heavy equipment operator for DCNR.  Chad was a mechanic and truck driver for Mike Wagner's race team and also travelled with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.  He loved working at Lee and Curtis Glacier's farm in McConnellsburg, PA, hunting, fishing and shooting pool. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by brother Chris (husband of Lisa) Culler of Mechanicsburg, PA, half-sister Kyndra Strait of McConnellsburg, PA, brother-in-law Chad Cisney of Dry Run, PA, sister-in-law Lori (companion Scott Williams) Cisney of Neelyton, PA, nephews Isaac and Ian Culler, maternal grandmother Mary T. Culler of McConnellsburg, PA and Emily's parents Danny and Carol Cisney of Shade Gap, PA.  Preceded in death by maternal grandfather Merrill Culler, paternal grandparents Marden and Floyd Strait. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 8th, 2017  with Jeremy Fletcher officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 7th, 2017 from 2 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
