Carolyn A. Mellott

Carolyn  A. Mellott, 72, of Fort Loudon, PA, passed away Tuesday, July 17th, 2018, at her residence.

Carolyn  was born in McConnellsburg, PA on May 4, 1946, a daughter of the late Anna (Tritle) DeShong and Charles  Hardman.  She was the widow of John "David"  Mellott, whom she married on February 5, 1967.  He preceded her in death on July 10, 2017.

Carolyn attended Asbury United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, PA.  She was a homemaker for most of her younger years, taking care of her children before she went to work later in life.  She enjoyed playing bingo and loved taking care of and feeding her family.

She is survived by daughter Susanna R. Shipp, of  Ft. Loudon, PA;  daughter Sandra K. (wife of William) Robinson, of Chambersburg, PA;  son Mark D. (husband of Renita) Mellott, of Dry Run, PA; brother Robert (companion of Lana Buterbaugh) DeShong, of Mechanicsburg, PA;  brother Brad DeShong, of Mecersburg, PA;  sister Deanna  Strait, of Dry Run, PA and sister Beth Daniels, of McConnellsburg, PA.   She is also survived by five grandsons, two granddaughters and five great granddaughters.

Funeral services will be held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11.00 AM on Friday, July 20th,  with Pastor Gail Kitchen and Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating. There will be a visitation held on Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Asbury United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA.
