Carl L. Helman, Sr., 82, of Fort Loudon, PA passed away Wednesday, January 8th, 2014 at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA.
Carl was born in Knobsville, PA on December 11, 1931, the son of the late Norman L. and Anna L. (Seville) Helman. He was the widower of Edna M. (Keefer) Helman whom he married on September 5, 1953 and she passed away on December 6, 2006.
Mr. Helman was of the Protestant faith, was a member of the Mercersburg Sportsmans Club, the Ft. Loudon Ruritan and was a retired supervisor from the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA.
He is survived by Daughter Joyce A. (wife of Tom) Cook of Mercersburg, PA, Son Carl L. (husband of Karen) Helman, Jr. of Ft. Loudon, PA, Sisters Hope Seville of Chambersburg, PA, Evelyn Snyder of Shade Gap, PA, Elizabeth Johnson of Shade Gap, PA, Sarah Sowers of McConnellsburg, PA, Gayle Chesnut of McConnellsburg, PA, Mary Noyes of Fayetteville, PA, Brothers Jim Helman of Ft. Loudon, PA John Helman of McConnellsburg, PA, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter Janice M. Rhodes, sisters Betty Seville, Carol Mills, brothers Dean and Quay Helman.
Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 14th, 2014 with Pastor Alan Greijack officiating.
Interment at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA.
There will be visitation on Monday, January 13th, 2014 from 2 to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
