Blaine F. Jones, Jr.

Blaine Franklin Jones Jr., 58 passed away unexpectedly January 31, 2018 in McConnellsburg, PA.  Blaine was born July 13, 1959 in Chambersburg, PA and was the son of the late Blaine F. Jones Sr. and Mabel Sipes Jones. In his early years, Blaine and his family relocated to the Shenandoah Valley residing in Harrisonburg, VA.  Blaine was a 1978 graduate of Harrisonburg High School and was active in band and sports.  In August 1979 Blaine began a life time career with the United States Army retiring in January 2008. Blaine was a loyal patriot of the United States and served his country through multiple tours of duty to the Middle East.  Blaine retired with many medals of honor. Blaine is survived by his wife Karen Denell Shifflett Jones, one son Alexander Jones and wife Natascha of Germany, one daughter Ann Sophie Jones of Germany, one step-daughter English Hilbert and spouse Nathan of Elkton, VA, one brother Robert Jones and wife Susan of McConnellsburg, PA, one special cousin Joey Mickey, and other close local family members Aunt Lou, Laura, Ed, Sam, Katrina, Jacob, and McKenzie.  Blaine is also survived by many extended family members too numerous to mention and his service dog, Ashes. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
