Betty E. Swope

Betty  E. Swope, 67, of  Harrisonville, PA, died Thursday, July 3, 2014  at her residence.

Betty  was born in Harrisonville, PA on June 2, 1947, a daughter of the late Hilda E. (Hann) and Grenville W. Mellott.

She was the wife of A. Donald  Swope, whom she married on July 27, 1972.

Betty was a homemaker.  In her earlier years, she worked as a receptionist for Dr. Lorentz.  She was also the Secretary/Treasurer for the Fulton County Township Association and the Auditor for Licking Creek Township for many years.  She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene, Harrisonville, PA. Betty enjoyed hunting, cooking, sewing, quilting and attending auctions.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Curt W.  (husband of Sandy) Lynch of Harrisonville, PA and her daughter Donna R. (wife of Cory L.) Gress of Harrisonville, PA.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, Christopher W. (husband of Ariel) Lynch, Mandi A. (wife of Kent) Anderson, Carrie M. (wife of Jimmy) Hendershot,  Mallory Gress, Wylan Gress,  Myles Gress and six great grandchildren, Trinity and Noah Lynch, Addison and Paige Anderson and Laynee and Tenley Hendershot.

Religious Service at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene, Harrisonville, PA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 7th,  with Pastor Dan Porterfield and Rev. Bill Swope officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 2 PM to 8 PM.  at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be one hour of visitation before the service at the church on Monday.

Interment at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene Harrisonville, PA.
