Betty J. Christian

Betty J. Christian, 94, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Betty was born in Andover, PA on August 30, 1923, the daughter of the late Olive Myrtle (Fix) DeShong Feight and Harry A. DeShong. Mrs. Christian worked in housekeeping at the Fulton County Medical Center before retiring at the age of eighty and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Needmore, PA.  Betty tithed faithfully to the church and was a very devout Christian who had bible studies at her house.  She was very willing to share the teachings of her church and her door was always open to anyone in need.  Betty attributed her overall good health to being a vegetarian.  She had little but gave much to family and friends. She is survived by brothers Nelson (husband of Rachael) DeShong of McConnellsburg, PA, Max (husband of Mary) DeShong of McConnellsburg, PA, two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by daughter Eileen Angle, grandson Lon Angle, sister Julia Chesnut, brothers Bill and Jack DeShong. Graveside memorial service will be held Sunday, June 10th, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA. Arrangements were made by the Howard L.
