Benjamin F. Truax

Benjamin F. "Ben" Truax, 81, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Sunday, April 17th, 2016 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Ben was born in Warfordsburg, PA on January 30, 1935, the son of the late Ada (Deneen) and Marshall Earl Truax.  He was the widower of Marlene M. (Crist) Truax whom he married on June 4, 1955 and she passed away on April 1, 2016. Mr. Truax was of the Protestant faith, attended the Pleasant Grove United Christian Church in Warfordsburg, PA in his younger years, retired from Fleetwood Enterprises in Hancock, MD and Williamsport, MD and also was a farmer in his earlier years and after he retired.  He enjoyed hunting and woodworking when he was able too. He is survived by son Wayne B. Truax of Dillsburg, PA, daughter Melinda L. (wife of Robert) Sass of Rapid City, SD, sisters Lois Bard of Rapid City, SD, Georgia Gray of Mercersburg, PA, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Preceded in death by sister Josephine Mellott. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 21st, 2016  with Pastor Roger Truax officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 20th, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
