Beatrice O. Mellott

Beatrice O. Mellott, 87, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Saturday, May 25th, 2019 at her residence.

Beatrice was born in Needmore, PA on April 27, 1932, the daughter of the late Geraldine (Knable) and Earl  Truax.  She was the wife of Thornton  Mellott, Jr. whom she married on January 14, 1950.

Mrs. Mellott attended the Christian Life Assembly of God Church in Chambersburg, PA and had worked at the Sagner Sewing Factory in McConnellsburg, PA.  Beatrice enjoyed quilting, fishing in Chincoteague, taking vacations, cooking and spending time with her family

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Linda (wife of Harold) Batdorff, of McConnellsburg, PA, Deb (wife of Roger) Richards, of McConnellsburg, PA, sister Anna Mary (wife of Paul) Long, of Chambersburg, PA, brothers Ivan Truax, of Needmore, PA, Guy (husband of Wanda) Truax, of Harrisonville, PA, grandchildren Shanda L. (wife of Mike) Henry, of McConnellsburg, PA, Brian A. "Maz" Batdorff, of McConnellsburg, PA, Mandy  Richards Hoey (wife of George), of McConnellsburg, PA, Ryan B. (husband of Kim) Richards, of McConnellsburg, PA, great grandchildren Luke Mellott, Sydney Mellott, Zeb Henry, Cabe Batdorff, Clayton Garlock, Haley Garlock, Thornton "Carter" Garlock, Lexi Richards and Jenna Richards.  Beatrice was preceded in death by sister Thelma Mellott and two infant brothers. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 29th, 2019 with Pastor Joe Pickens and Pastor Leroy Wiley officiating.

Visitation will be one hour before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
