Barbara A. Mellott, 79, of Six Mile Run, PA, passed away Tuesday, July 12th, at her residence.
Barbara was born in Huntingdon, PA on May 7, 1937, a daughter of the late Blanche (Corbin) and Tucker Ford. She was the widow of Willard C. Mellott, whom she married in August of 1953. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1992.
Barbara was a Homemaker and worked on the family farm along side her husband. She attended the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren in Needmore, PA. She was a member of the VFW Post 655 McConnellsburg, PA and the American Legion Post 561 McConnellsburg, PA. Barbara enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, canning and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryl A. (wife of Ricky Sr.) Gladhill of Needmore, PA, brother Marlin (wife of Patty) Ford of Youngstown, OH, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Calvin Mellott, brothers Leon Ford, Ronald Ford, sisters Beverly Perez, Carole Sponsler and Carmen Foreman.
Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, PA, at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 15th, with Pastor William Swope and Pastor Mac Miller officiating.
Interment will be at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
There will be two hours of visitation held at the church from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday.
