Ann A. Sipes

Ann A. Sipes, 83, of Harrisonville, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Embassy Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.

Ann was born in East Dereham, England, on December 16, 1939, a daughter of the late Alethea Ann (Frior) and Joseph  Mason.  She was the widow of Charles E. Sipes, whom she married on January 19, 1959.  He preceded her in death on March 8, 2011.

In her earlier years, Ann worked at Sagner in McConnellsburg, Pa before becoming a mail carrier until her retirement.  She enjoyed gardening and going to auctions and flea markets.

She is survived by her son Charles Joseph Sipes, of McConnellsburg, PA, sister Helen  Claydon, of England, brothers Fred Mason and Richard Kirk, both of England.  She is also survived by her grandchildren; Ian Sipes, Sarah Sipes, Jake Collinson, Haleigh Swindell and her close friends and neighbors, Anthony, Martin and Gloria, who took care of her in her later years.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Margaret.

Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc.,  McConnellsburg, PA, at 1:00 PM  on Monday, June 26th,  with Pastor Joshua Shadle officiating.   There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service.  Interment will be at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA.
