Alma E. Brady

Alma E. Brady, 72, of Big Cove Tannery, PA passed away Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014 at Community General Hospital, Harrisburg,  PA. Alma was born in McConnellsburg, PA on June 28, 1942, the daughter of the late Ruth L. (Hohman) and George E. Shives.  She was the wife of M. Lamont  Brady whom she married on February 2, 1963 at the Calvary Independent Baptist Church, Saltillo, PA. Mrs. Brady graduated from McConnellsburg High School in 1960 and LPN school in Chambersburg, PA in 1961.  She was a member of the Kasiesville Bible Church, Mercersburg, PA and a retired LPN who had worked at two doctor's offices, the Fulton County Medical Center and at Menno Haven in Chambersburg, PA In addition to her husband, she is survived by Sons Keith E. (husband of Dani J.) Brady of Needmore, PA, Kevin E. (husband of Patricia) Brady of Needmore, PA, Daughter Kristina J. (wife of Denny) Orth, Jr. of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Sisters Joyce E. Gutridge of Chambersburg, PA, Judy Ann Strait of McConnellsburg, PA, Kay Wastler of Hagerstown, MD, Brothers A. Zane Shives of Charleston, WV, Ralph Shives of Lancaster, NY, Randy M. Shives of Harrisburg, PA, Daughter-in-law Vickie (wife of Galen) Tackett of Warrenton, VA, Grandchildren Jordan C. Brady, Sarah E. McFadden, Amber B. Schwab, Adin K. Brady, Quaid A. Brady, Abigail M. Orth, Corey A. Hill, Tyen Tackett, Step-Grandchildren Brad and Scott Truax, Great Grandchildren Shaylin and Noah Brady.  Preceded in death by son Kenneth A. Brady and brother George E. Shives, Jr. Religious Service at Kasiesville Bible Church, 12639 Fort Loudon Road, Mercersburg, PA 17236 at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 8th, 2014  with Pastor Greg Kell officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 7th, 2014 from 4 to 8 PM.   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Monday at the church. Interment at Laurel Ridge Christian Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery, PA on Monday, December 8th, 2014 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kasiesville Bible Church, 12639 Fort Loudon Road, Mercersburg, PA 17236. Arrangements were made by the Howard L.
