Alma May (Anderson) Locke

Alma May Locke, 85, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of St. Thomas, PA, went home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2024.

Alma was born in Broad Top, PA on November 28, 1938, a daughter of the late Lottie (Griffith) and W.  Lee Anderson.  She was the widow of Harold W. Locke Jr., who she married on September 22, 1962.   He preceded her in death on January 12, 2024.

She was a proud member of the Wells Valley United Methodist Church, Well Tannery, PA but attended the First United Methodist Church of Mercersburg, PA from 1962 until she was unable. The church and her church family were a very important part of her life.  She was very active in all aspects which she served faithfully, with her late husband Harold. She was also active in her local Rose Society.

She is survived by her sisters Leona (wife of Ron) Brantner, of Lewisberry, PA; Grace (wife of Lyle) Mellott, of Needmore, PA; Flora Bonzo, of Columbia, MD,  Bettie Hershey, of Bedford, PA; and a brother, Bill  Anderson, of Martinsburg, PA. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews, she is survived by her good friends Carol Parsons and Steve Brindle. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray, W. Guy and Donald L. Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Mercersburg, Mercersburg, PA, at 11:00 A.M on Monday, August 19,2024  with Pastor Dan Allen officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church.
