Allen R. Brown

Allen R.  Brown, 79, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Thursday, August 10th, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Allen was born in Fort Littleton, PA on May 21, 1938, a son of the late Margaretta (Glunt) and Clarence R. Brown.  He was the husband of Teresa C. (Hendershot) Brown, whom he married on July 25, 1986. Allen worked in his early years as a self employed painter and also for John Mumma at the service station in Fort Littleton, PA.  He then went to work for H.J. Culler in McConnellsburg, PA until his retirment.  He was a member of Cito United Methodist Church McConnellsburg, PA .   Allen enjoyed Nascar, sprint cars, collecting racing memorabilia but most of all he enjoyed his family and friends. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Bryan E. (husband of Norma) Brown of McConnellsburg, PA, John A. Brown of Flagstaff, AZ, and Emilie J. (wife of Eric) Ketterman of Biglerville, PA, brothers Harold "Bud" (husband of Beatrice) Brown of St. Thomas, PA, Larry (husband of Vera) Brown of Harrisonville, PA, and  a sister, Dorothy (wife of Ken) Hall, of McConnellsburg, PA.  He is also survived by five grandchildren; Jordan and Westin Mellott and Ethan, Zachary, and Katelynn Ketterman.  He was preceded in death by a son Phillip A. Mellott Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 13th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Funeral service will be at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 13th,  with Pastor Rob French officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
