Alice Elizabeth Strait

Alice Elizabeth Strait, 72, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, June 10th, 2015 at her residence. Alice was born in McConnellsburg, PA on May 20, 1943, the daughter of the late Goldie (Cooper) and Claude B. Souders.  She was the wife of Jackie R. Strait whom she married on June 17, 1983. Mrs. Strait was a member of the Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, PA, had worked at the Sagner Sewing Factory and Waynesboro Knitting both in McConnellsburg, PA and she enjoyed baking, fishing and puzzles. In addition to her husband, she is survived by Daughter Terry L. (wife of Donald) Truax of McConnellsburg, PA, Sons Clair E. (husband of Darlene) Lininger, Jr. of Needmore, PA, Harold R. (husband of Dayna) Lininger of Warfordsburg, PA, Sisters Betty Hoffman of McConnellsburg, PA, Rosaline Carbaugh of McConnellsburg, PA, Patty Hazline of Florida, Brothers Jay Souders of Wells Tannery, PA, Edgar Souders of Greencastle, PA, Lyle Souders of Warfordsburg, PA, eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  Preceded in death by step-mother Margaret Anna Souders, sisters Faye Knepper, Helen Schetrompf, Edna Sipes, brothers Ray, Melvin, Calvin, Blair Sr., Jerry and Grover Souders, Carl Urban, grandson Mason Daniels and great grandson Isaiah Smith. Visitation will be Monday, June 15th, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
