A. Jane Batdorff

A. Jane Batdorff, 86, of Harrisonville, PA, passed away Monday, October 1st, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Jane was born in Harrisonville, PA on May 17, 1932, a daughter of the late Laura (Schooley) and Rex  Sipes.  She was the widow of Norman E. "Bing"  Batdorff, whom she married on March 25, 1950.  He preceded her in death on July 20, 2005.

She was a member of Siloam United Methodist Church Harrisonville, PA  and the Garden Club.  Jane was a Homemaker and also helped her husband by driving school bus from 1965 to 1975 for the Greenhill School in Harrisonville, PA.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, watching TV, tending her flower gardens and attending her grandchildrens and great grandchildrens ball games.  Jane always enjoyed having company or visting her friends.

She is survived by daughters Kathy B. (wife of Jay) Holtry, of Chambersburg, PA, Linda S. (wife of Roger) DeShong, of McConnellsburg, PA, son Duncan E. (husband of Brenda) Batdorff, of McConnellsburg, PA and sister Betty  Mae (wife of John) Buterbaugh, of McConnellsburg, PA.  She is also survived by four grandchildren, Todd Palmer, Amy Bishop, Crystal Glenn and Roger DeShong, Jr. and five great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by sisters; Nora Sherbuck, Naomi Mellott, Almeda Sipes, brothers Raymond Sipes, Glenn A. Sipes and two infant twin siblings.

There will be a visitation held on  Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 5 PM to 8 PM. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.

Funeral services will be held at the Siloam United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, PA, at 11:00 AM with one hour of visitation before the service on Thursday, October 4th,  with Pastor Gail Kitchen officiating.

Interment at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery Harrisonville, PA.
