William R. Kuhn, 96, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Fulton County, PA, passed away Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA.
William was born in Webster Mills, PA on August 3, 1923, the son of the late Ruth (Knable) and William L. Kuhn. He was the widower of Betty (Miller) Kuhn whom he married in September of 1942 and she passed away on November 19, 2008.
Mr. Kuhn was a member of the Rock Hill Mennonite Church in McConnellsburg, PA, was a forklift operator at H.J. Heinz in Chambersburg, PA and then worked at J. Robert Meyers helping with various auctions throughout the area. He also was the caretaker at Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg, PA from 1949 to 1969 and enjoyed attending yard sales.
He is survived by daughters Betty Jane Seiders, of McConnellsburg, PA, Judy J. (wife of Dennis) Shover, of St. Thomas, PA, Lorraine (wife of Kirk) Cunningham, of McConnellsburg, PA, Ruth I. (wife of Steve) Brindle, of Chambersburg, PA, sons William Lee (husband of Marie) Kuhn, of Chambersburg, PA, David M. Kuhn, of McConnellsburg, PA, sisters Betty Kuhn, of McConnellsburg, PA, Margaret Racila, of Fayetteville, PA, Charlotte Goetz, of Greencastle, PA, brother Denver Kuhn, of McConnellsburg, PA, twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. William was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020 from 6 to 8 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 23rd, 2020 with Pastor Samuel Sollenberger and Pastor Lonnie Shover officiating.
Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
