Theron J. "Jack" Koons, Jr.

 Theron J. "Jack" Koons, Jr., 75, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Monday, October 15th, 2018 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA.

     Jack was born in Waynesboro, PA on March 20, 1943, the son of the late Frances (Toms) Koons and Theron J. Koons, Sr.  He was the husband of P. Linda  (Lake) Koons whom he married on August 20, 1966.

     Mr. Koons graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1961, served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1965 and in his earlier years, he attended the Cito United Methodist Church in McConnellsburg, PA.  Jack was a member of the American Legion Post #561 in McConnellsburg, PA, the VFW Post #655 in McConnellsburg, PA, the Mercersburg Moose Lodge 1790 and was a lineman at West Penn Power for thirty-six years upon retiring in 2002.  Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, birdwatching and spending time with his granddaughters.

     In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Troy M. (husband of Peggy) Koons, of Needmore, PA, sister Lacye Jane Shank, of Westminster, MD, grandchildren Cheyenne and Peyton Koons.  Preceded in death by son Todd B. Koons.

     Visitation will be Tuesday, October 23rd, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.

     Graveside services will be private.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Franklin & Fulton Unit, 384 Floral Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
