Rodney H. Morton

     Rodney H. Morton, 65, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Thursday, March 14th, 2019 at UPMC Altoona, Altoona, PA.

     Rodney was born in McConnellsburg, PA on February 15, 1954, the son of the late Mona (Schooley) and Herman  Morton.  He was the husband of Cheryl F.K. (Keckler) Morton whom he married in 1988.

     He graduated from McConnellsburg High School in 1972, was a member of the Sideling Hill Christian Church in Needmore, PA and was a former member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.  Rodney was a fuel oil delivery driver for  forty-three years driving for McKelvey Oil Co, Inc in Harrisonville, PA, Oliver Oil Co in McConnellsburg, PA, Shipley Energy in McConnellsburg, PA and was currently driving for Tevis (Rotz) Oil in Chambersburg, PA.  Rodney was also a part-time farmer on his family farm and a race car mechanic for Mike Wagner.  He enjoyed hunting, especially for turkeys, all his animals and especially his donkey Henry and his two little special dogs Molly and Lady Bug.  Rodney also enjoyed his 1974 Nova and spending time with his grandchildren.

     In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Brandon (husband of Christy) Morton, of Needmore, PA, daughter Amy J. Morton (wife of Anthony Helman), of McConnellsburg, PA, sister Sue Ellen Henry, of Fayetteville, PA and granddaughters Gracey and Ellie Morton.  Rodney is also survived by one niece.

     Visitation will be Monday, March 18, 2019 from 2 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church.

     Religious Service at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, PA at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 19th, 2019  with Pastor William Swope officiating.

     Interment at Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
