Melvin D "Bill" Covert

 Melvin D. "Bill" Covert, 95, of Shade Gap, PA passed away Thursday, September 13th, 2018 at his residence.

     Melvin was born in Shade Gap, PA on September 19, 1922, the son of the late Elsie (Mentzer) and Francis  Covert.  He was the widower of Bertha M. (Clouser) Covert whom he married on June 28, 1948 and she passed away on July 8, 2018.

     Mr. Covert was a member of the Fair Ridge Assembly of God in Shade Gap, PA and worked for G.A. & F. C. Wagman's in Dallastown, PA.  Bill enjoyed hunting, making woodcrafts and attending yard sales.

     He is survived by daughter Darlene L. (wife of Craig) Dickinson, of Shade Gap, PA, sons Chet M. (husband of Beverly) Covert, of Greencastle, PA, Rick L. (husband of Brenda) Covert, of Willow Hill, PA, Kevin D. (husband of Kathryn) Covert, of Shade Gap, PA, sister Lena Snyder, of Shade Gap, PA, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by brothers Lloyd, Ralph, Norman and Janiver Covert.

     Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18th, 2018 from 12 to 2 PM at Fair Ridge Assembly of God, Shade Gap, PA.

     Religious service at Fair Ridge Assembly of God, Shade Gap, PA at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 18th, 2018  with Pastor Richard Harter officiating.

     Interment at Fair Ridge Assembly of God Cemetery, Shade Gap, PA.
