Ivan L. Truax

  Ivan L. Truax, 96, of Needmore, PA, passed away Friday, June 28th, at his residence.

     Ivan was born in Needmore, PA on June 8, 1923, a son of the late Geraldine (Knable) and Earl  E. Truax.  He was the widower of Rose E. (Clark) Truax, whom he married on April 11, 1942.  She preceded him in death on May 25, 2006.

     He was a member of the Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, PA .  Ivan worked at Nothern Homes in Chambersburg, PA in his younger years before going to work for Penn Dot at the Warfordsburg Rest Area.  He retired on June 21, 1985.  Ivan loved hunting, especially hunting rabbits wih his dogs.  He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.  

   He is survived by a son Donald R. Truax, of McConnellsburg, PA; daughter Lucille B. Truax, of Needmore, PA; daughter L. Diane Snook, of Hustontown, PA; sister Anna Mary Long, of Chambersburg, PA and brother Guy (husband of Wanda) Truax, of Harrisonville, PA.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son Roger E. Truax, sisters Beatrice and Thelma Mellott, two infant brothers and a daughter in law Shirley Truax.

     Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, with Pastor William Swope officiating.  There will be visitation held two hours prior to the service from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home.

     Interment will be at the Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery Needmore, PA.
