Gerald V. Mellott, 90, a resident of the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Unit, McConnellsburg, PA and formerly of Needmore, PA passed away Sunday, July 29th, 2018 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.
Gerald was born in Needmore, PA on November 3, 1927, the son of the late Leticia (Hill) and Ray Mellott. He was the husband of Virginia Lee (Mellott) Mellott whom he married on March 28, 1948.
Mr. Mellott was a member and deacon of the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren in Needmore, PA. In his earlier years, he and his wife owned and operated G & V Diner in Needmore, PA during the late fifties and sixties and he retired from Grove Manufacturing in Shady Grove, PA. After retiring, he drove school bus for ten plus years and was a substitute mail carrier for the Warfordsburg Post Office. Gerald also enjoyed gardening and John Deere tractors.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Larry G. (husband of Patti) Mellott, of Needmore, PA,
sister Mary Etter, of Scotland, PA and granddaughter Kimberly (wife of Matthew) Cramer, of Shippensburg, PA. Preceded in death by brother Boyd Mellott.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 10 to 11 AM at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, PA.
Religious Service at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, PA at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 1st, 2018 with Pastor Roger Truax and Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating.
Interment at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, 2507 Pleasant Ridge Road, Needmore, PA 17238.
