George W. Carnell, 86, of Needmore, PA, died Friday, July 26th, 2013 at the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Unit, McConnellsburg, PA.
George was born in Needmore, PA on July 3, 1927, the son of the late Chester Holis and Lula (Mellott) Carnell. He spent his earlier years farming the family homestead. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with friends and family.
George is survived by a special nephew Robert K. Stevens Sr. and wife Verna (Shank) of Needmore, PA, who assisted in his care, niece Daisy (Stevens) and husband Elmer Stelk of Montgomery, AL, niece Mary (Stevens) Mellott of Baltimore, MD, and a close cousin Virginia Lee and husband Gerald Mellott of Needmore, PA. He is also survived by survived by 10 great nieces and nephews and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by a sister Mildred P. (Carnell) Stevens and a niece Goldie M. (Stevens) Collins.
Religious Service will be held at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, PA, at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 1st, 2013 with Pastor Roger Truax officiating.
Interment will be at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethen Cemetery Needmore, PA.
There will be a visitation held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 12 PM to 1 PM at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, PA.
