Doris Souders Obituary
Doris L. Souders, 62, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, June 21st, 2017 at her residence.
Doris was born in McConnellsburg, PA on December 8, 1954, the daughter of the late Helen (Fix) and Marvin Layton. She was the wife of Allen "Pee Wee" Souders whom she married on April 19, 1975.
She attended the Knobsville Church of the Brethren in McConnellsburg, PA, was a medical transcriptionist at Chambersburg Hospital and then went to work for Dr. Peter Wallick in Chambersburg, PA. Doris was a loving wife and also loved her cats and camping.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sister Nancy Chamberlain of Pine Grove, PA and brother Glenn Layton of Chambersburg, PA.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 2 to 8 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 26th, 2017 with Pastor Chris Elliott officiating.
Interment at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.
